First Scheduled Club Ride – June 28th. This is a SAG supported ride that will be the perfect day to ride long two weeks before the Death Ride. The ride will go to Markleeville and back. This ride not only climbs both sides of Ebbetts Pass, like the Death Ride, but descends and ascends the notoriously steep Pacific Grade Summit as well. Other ride options will be available that day if you don't want to go the long route, there is a group of riders for the shorter route that will be leaving at 9:30 from the parking lot on the right as you enter the village.  SAG will end at 3pm, so if you are coming from Markleeville make sure you start on time.

Please register on Eventbrite to let us know you are coming.

The roads are clear, the sweeper has done its job and it is now time to ride!  The ride on June 28th will be the same format as last year with a bit of the twist.  As you may have heard there is a Coop formed to purchase the resort at Bear Valley.  I want to support the Coop with passing the hat for donations to the Coop’s promotional fund.  They have made extraordinary progress with over 50% of their membership goal and an agreement to buy the resort with the two remaining owners.  They have also enlisted the aid of a professional ski hill management company to help with the due diligence.

Here is what I am going to ask.  If you want to ride it is still a free sponsored ride thanks to our good friends at Bear Valley Cross Country and Bike center.  I would request you donate to the Coop at a couple of different levels, $50 will get you some BBQ will also get you a nifty t-shirt or cap.  The goodies are yet to be determined.
